Pearls

by Jose Martinez

How easy it would be,
to walk into a store,
and buy you a pearl,
easier than saying,
I love you, I guess,

but would it mean more,
if I walked to the shore,
and dove into the sea,
sparkling under the sun,
sailboats gliding over me,

my glittered hands will emerge,
above the mystic ocean,
holding a hundred pearls,
of which two special ones,
will adorn your shell shaped ears,
and the rest will live like,
revolving planets,
around your heart, the sun,
that lights my darkness,
and warms our love
